How does the stock market work in the United States?

The western world is built on a capitalist society, meaning that we have the freedom to earn and create income as opposed to a communistic society that controls income from the State or Government. One of those dynamics of earning money is through the creation of businesses. If your business reaches a level of success you may decide if you want to keep your company small or to allow growth. If you want to take your business to a higher level then you would need to invest highly into it. One way you can reach that high level of investment is to have individuals or other companies buy a piece of your business. The piece they buy is called a stock.
Stocks sell at many different cost levels. However, buying stock means taking a risk that a particular company is going to be successful, it may not. In fact you might very well lose all your money. Yet, if you choose to take a risk and purchase stock it could also make you become rich beyond your comprehension. This is one of the dynamics of a free market society—risk taking.
You can take a risk and purchase Art Stock. Art Stock is a share or stock that sells for 20 Art Bucks per share. A share increases value if you are on time everyday. Your stock goes up 10% after two weeks and thereafter, as long as you are on time. If you fail to be on time your stock decreases by 5% each time, and thereafter. Therefore if you have 20 art bucks and there is a perfect attendance for two weeks your stock earned you 2 more art bucks. The more Art Stock shares you own the more you earn or lose.
What can I buy with my stocks or Art Bucks?
There are two ways you can cash your art bucks or stock in. The first is paying for the vending food each Friday, or Studio Friday. On those days you may pay for popcorn, cotton candy, snow cones, hotdogs or ice cream. If you earn 300 art bucks you can trade them in for a gold card that allows you to partake in any and all of the vending foods each Friday. This means you eat free the rest of they year.
