Semiotics = symbols or the science of symbols

You signature is a symbol of who you are. It serves as a form of identification. However, it is just one component of who you are within the realm of semiotics. Your identification is made up of multiple symbols containing many meanings such as your ethnicity, your race, culture, religion and more. Within each of those elements lies a symbol or representation or identification. If you are an American you hold the symbol of the American flag. There is a symbol for male and female, gay or straight, etc.

Semiotics used in a sentence: The semiotics of Native Americans are vast when considering the multitude of tribal groups that exist.

Aesthetics= A set of principles concerned with the nature and appreciation of beauty.

Everyone has their own perspective on beauty. Your aesthetics are wrapped around how you view beauty. You may think that the manner that a pro basketball player does a lay up is a thing of beauty. Therefore, you believe in the aesthetic of the movement of beautiful lay up. Your aesthetic may involve eating. You love to sit down to a well designed and cooked meal. Therefore, your aesthetic is the beauty of cooking with the chef being the head artist.
