Combining Objects
For the next two weeks you have a drawing assignment plus one reading on discovering the contemporary artist, Kara Walker. The drawing assignment is to take an object in your home transform it into something else. The example I give in the demonstration video is that of a tea kettle turned into an elephant. You may also combine a drawing with an actual object and make a photo of it. When you done make a good quality photo on your cell phone and email it to ihs.db@yahoo.com. You must produce 4 different drawings with 4 different objects. You have two weeks to complete the assignment. All drawings and assessment on Kara Walker are due on September 11th by midnight. You may start sending in your completed work any day before the deadline if you wish. You must sign into art class every day that you have art during the correct block or period.
